James Burgess Memorial Scholarship
Jim Burgess was raised in Trinity County and graduated from Trinity High School. He served as a Sergeant in the Air Force, working as an Air Policeman. After his military service, he attended the California Highway Patrol Academy and was eventually assigned back to his hometown of Weaverville. He retired from the Trinity River Division in 2001. Jim was actively involved in the community and a dedicated supporter of Trinity County youth. In 2018, following his untimely passing, this award was established by his friends from The Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation and other community members.
Your generous support for the James Burgess Memorial Scholarship plays a crucial role in empowering Trinity High School students to chase their aspirations in higher education and law enforcement careers. By contributing, we not only honor Jim's remarkable legacy but also make a meaningful investment in the bright future of our community and its youth.
