Old Goat: The Film

We are Eve Florin and Corey Mackey, an award-winning screenwriting team collaborating since 2018. Together, we’ve written two feature-length screenplays that have earned significant recognition in screenplay competitions. Our work includes a win at the Shore Scripts Feature Competition, a finalist placement at the Outstanding Screenplays Feature Competition, a Top 1% ranking on Coverfly, and placements in respected competitions including Launch Pad, Big Break, The Script Lab, the Vail Screenplay Competition, and the Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards.
We are now seeking support to bring Old Goat to the screen—a heartfelt 20-page screenplay about a lonely, grieving professor who forms an unexpected bond with a goat he hires to eat his lawn. Through humor, warmth, and quiet emotional honesty, Old Goat explores loss, isolation, and the surprising ways connection can help us heal.
Our goal is to produce the film entirely in Washington, working with local cast, crew, and vendors whenever possible. In doing so, we hope to contribute to Washington's thriving independent film community while creating a high-quality festival short that reflects the talent and the creativity of our region.
Fiscal sponsorship will help us bring this story to life while supporting local artists and businesses throughout the production process. We are committed to making a film that is both artistically meaningful and professionally executed.
Old Goat is a fiscally sponsored project of the Allied Arts Foundation.
