For 18 years, Outdoor Afro has connected Black people and communities to lands, water, and wildlife. Home Place is the next bold chapter in that journey: a permanent destination where people can gather, learn, lead, heal, celebrate, and deepen lifelong relationships with nature and one another.

Rooted in founder Rue Mapp’s childhood experiences on her family’s land, Home Place will be a welcoming place shaped by hospitality, Black culture, outdoor life, joy, and well-being. It will provide a shared anchor for our national community—a place to train leaders, strengthen programs, restore and reconnect, and create memories across generations.
