Rooted Together: A Capital Campaign to Build Urbanity's Headquarters
Our Story
Urbanity Dance has the opportunity to purchase its current headquarters and establish its first permanent home in the Boston community. That opportunity inspired the launch of Rooted Together, our capital campaign to secure Urbanity’s future. After navigating a 40% increase in rent and rising operating costs, ownership would allow Urbanity to build equity, reduce fixed occupancy expenses by nearly half, and create greater long-term financial stability.
This space is more than a building. It is where Urbanity’s mission comes to life. It provides access to dance for students and families, supports professional and emerging artists, develops youth leadership, and brings the community together through programs like Access for All, Urbanity X, Urbanity 2, and Movement Meets.
Through Rooted Together, corporate partners can invest in a permanent foundation for Urbanity’s continued growth and impact, ensuring that dancers, artists, students, and the broader Boston community have a place to learn, create, connect, and grow for generations to come.
Rooted Together
For 12 years, Urbanity has been a home for dancers, artists, students, and community members across Boston. At Urbanity, we believe dance belongs to everyone.
Two guiding lights shape our work: Access for All and Movement Is Medicine. From up to 100% tuition coverage for youth through Access for All, to free, customized classes through Movement Meets, our school, company, and community programming creates opportunities for all.
Rooted Together secures our future, allowing us to continue serving the Greater Boston community for years to come.
