What is Coney Island Prep?

Coney Island Prep is a free public charter school where rigorous academics meet a community that knows every child by name, and where scholars from kindergarten through 12th grade are held to high expectations with daily, personalized support to meet them. But we believe education alone doesn't change a neighborhood. A community that uplifts each other is what makes opportunity possible, and every scholar who earns a degree multiplies it: a college-educated generation that returns as teachers, health professionals, advocates, and entrepreneurs, mentoring local businesses, expanding care and outreach. That's why we:

- Rank among New York City's top-performing charter schools.
- Have 100% of our seniors are accepted into college year after year.
- Have most families pay $0 out of pocket through our PRIDE Promise program.
- Have alumni from the past 3 years are persisting in college and on track to graduate at 7x the national average for similar demographics.

College at Coney Island Prep is a promise.

Your Investment Writes Futures

Chase A. joined Coney Island Prep's High School debate team and found his voice - and by senior year, he was leading his classmates as student body president. With support from donors like you, CIP gave him the coaching, the practice rounds, and the chance to compete on stages far from Brooklyn. He won first place at the BQCFL Grand Championships, then represented all of Brooklyn and Queens at the National Championship in Washington, D.C., where he advanced to the Congressional Debate Final Round and finished 16th in the nation, the first student from a New York City public school serving mostly low-income families to make it that far in over 25 years. Our college counseling team helped him find his fit and took him to visit Howard University - and this August, he began there as a political science major, carrying that same voice into everything ahead. As he puts it: "No matter what position you're in, your voice can guide you wherever you want."
