Colombia is home to 5.5 million small businesses, yet many promising entrepreneurs, especially women, refugees, and people rebuilding their lives after conflict, are shut out of opportunities to grow. Building Markets connects them with skills, buyers, contracts, and new markets. In the past year alone, our work has helped create or sustain more than 2,000 jobs and generate over $1.2 million in sales and contracts. Your support helps us open doors for even more entrepreneurs.

- $5,000 Connects 10 women entrepreneurs to mentors in our our Strong, Resilient Entrepreneurship program
- $10,000 Funds one full month of corporate buyer engagement, buyer engagement, opening critical opening doors for entrepreneurs
- $25,000 Allows 25 entrepreneurs to receive digital readiness and marketing training
- $50,000 Supports 50 high-potential SMEs in creating full-time equivalent jobs in communities of need

How we create impact through your support.
Building Markets launched in Colombia in 2023 with funding from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. We connect high- potential Colombian SMEs to markets and create jobs where they are desperately needed so that entire communities have the opportunity to thrive. We work intentionally with women- owned, refugee, displaced, and other vulnerable populations to create sustainable pathways out of poverty and into resilience.
We use a proven methodology:
FIND - We verify and assess SMEs through diagnostics to identify firms ready to grow.
BUILD - We train businesses in digital marketing, e-commerce, and cybersecurity.
CONNECT - We engage corporate buyers and use AI-powered matchmaking to close the gap.
Today with our help, Colombian businesses are selling through Rappi, Mercado Libre, and Exito.com.
In the last year we have helped entrepreneurs in Colombia create and sustain 2,054 full time equivalent jobs in communities of need.
