A Truck For SKCSR
Evelyn is the face and heart of SKCSR - she has helped countless stray kitties and animal-loving folks in Northeast Florida since 2018 - now it's time to pay it forward and fund an official Rescue vehicle to haul all those cats around!
WHO:
Evelyn - founder and director of Springfield Kitty Cat Shack has rescued and homed 3,300+ stray cats in Jacksonville Florida since 2018. Her determination, ingenuity, selflessness and bottomless kindness are apparent at every rescue and with every lucky kitty who crosses her path. If anyone deserves a safe, reliable, practical truck to scoop up more stray kitties - it's Evelyn.
WHAT:
A used SUV or pickup truck that can tow 5,000 lbs and has a backseat
WHY:
Stacking cats in carriers in the passenger seat of the current truck is not safe for Evelyn nor the cats. She needs space in a backseat to transport cats, administer medications, handle and transfer cats, etc. She also needs a backseat or trunk space to haul supplies securely and out of the rain. An SUV trunk space would be much easier for her to load heavy bags of food and litter - whilst Evelyn may be amazing, she is not tall ;-)
HOW:
We have reached out to local dealerships for a donation vehicle and applied for grants, but no luck. Evelyn is one of the most giving, big-hearted, capable women in our community - she is a full-time teacher and runs a cat rescue in her spare time. But this is one thing she needs Jacksonville's help with!
WHEN:
Now!
**This truck will be purchased by and for, and registered only to, Springfield Kitty Cat Shack Rescue, Inc., to be used expressly for rescue purposes only. This is not a personal or private vehicle for Evelyn, nor for anyone else. This vehicle's dedicated use will be for rescue business and all money donated for its purchase is tax-deductible**
