About the Ruth "Chip" Spalding Flower Endowment Fund
The Flower Fund transforms a simple gesture into a lasting impact. For more than a decade, Ruth “Chip” Spalding has supported Ellie Fund by anonymously sending flowers to patients undergoing breast cancer treatment. To ensure this small but powerful act of kindness continues for years to come, Chip established The Ruth “Chip” Spalding Flower Endowment Fund.
Today, when an Ellie Fund patient is having an especially hard day, a bouquet may arrive at their door signed simply, “A Friend from Ellie Fund.” In that moment, the flowers carry more than beauty—they carry encouragement, compassion, and the reminder that a community is standing beside them.
