Wayne Hunt – Swimming the English Channel for the Allied Forces Foundation

Wayne Hunt is a Senior Corporate Security Manager for an Energy Company, based in Houston, Texas, where he lives with his wife on their ranch. Before entering the energy sector, Wayne served 23 years in the Royal Marines, including distinguished service within UK Special Forces. His career has taken him around the world, leading security teams in some of the most challenging environments.

Despite his global work, Wayne’s heart remains firmly with the military community. He carries a deep commitment to veterans’ recovery, mental health, and suicide prevention, shaped by his years serving alongside allied nations and witnessing firsthand the long-term impact of combat and service.

In 2026, Wayne is taking on one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges: a 20.9‑mile (33.7 km) swim across the English Channel, from England to France. Battling cold water, unpredictable currents, and demanding conditions, Wayne is using this extraordinary effort to highlight resilience, perseverance, and commitment to others.

Wayne is swimming in support of the Allied Forces Foundation (AFF) to raise awareness and funds for wounded, ill, and injured warriors. Every donation helps AFF bring veterans from allied nations together for challenge-based events that rebuild confidence, restore purpose, and strengthen the sense of mission so many lose after service. These programs change lives—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Why This Work Matters

Many warriors struggle long after leaving the battlefield. Physical injuries, invisible wounds, and the loss of identity after service can create deep challenges.

AFF uses challenge‑based events, such as the Cateran Yomp, Marine Corps Marathon, and international expeditions, to restore:

• Purpose and mission
• Belonging and community
• Confidence and resilience
• Hope during difficult transitions

These events bring warriors together, side‑by‑side, reminding them they are not alone and that their service still matters.

Date: Between 7 and 12 July 2026 on a neap tide.
Location: England to France.
