Festival Madremonte
Umbral, Térraba
English below

Madremonte Community Festival is more than a cultural event — it is a platform for cooperation, environmental awareness, and living culture. After eight editions, it has become a recognized example of art rooted in political ecology and community regeneration. In 2026, Madremonte takes a historic step. For the first time, it will hold its main concert, UMBRAL (Threshold), in the Indigenous Brörán territory of Térraba, on the lands of Alma Vieja. This gathering represents a movement from solidarity in words to solidarity in presence — supporting land recovery and Indigenous autonomy through shared cultural experience. Funds raised will directly support Indigenous artists and knowledge keepers, travel for ancestral voices, and the essential production elements required to responsibly host the event on Indigenous land. Your contribution helps create a space where music, spirituality, gastronomy, and ancestral wisdom come together to defend the memory and future of native peoples. This is more than a festival — it is a threshold into collective presence, respect, and regeneration.

ENGLISH: The Osa Foundation Indigenous Community Fund is proud to support this historic edition of Madremonte, because holding the festival on Indigenous land for the very first time represents far more than a change of location - it marks a profound shift in relationship. By bringing UMBRAL to the Brörán territory of Térraba, on the lands of Alma Vieja, the festival moves from symbolic solidarity to embodied accompaniment. Supporting this event affirms our commitment to Indigenous autonomy, land recovery, and cultural continuity, while ensuring that resources flow directly into communities stewarding their ancestral territories. For the Indigenous Community Fund, this gathering reflects the principles we stand for: bioregional respect, participatory support, and the recognition that regeneration must center the leadership, wisdom, and sovereignty of Indigenous peoples.
