In 1776, America declared, right here in Philadelphia, the self-evident truth that all men are created equal and that the pursuit of happiness was an essential part of America's social contract.
250 years later, in this same city — a city that ranks at the bottom for economic mobility — we know a life of financial independence feels especially out of reach. While we are all created equal, we do not all have access to the same resources to pursue opportunity equally.
