José Andrés Was There From Day One — and He's Not Walking Away
When Russia invaded Ukraine, Chef José Andrés didn't wait. Within the first five days, he was on the ground with his non-profit World Central Kitchen — mobilizing support and standing alongside Ukrainian families in crisis. Over the following months, he made dozens of trips into the country, helping rally resources and deliver millions of meals to families in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, and frontline communities. These efforts were recognized by President Zelenskyy with the Order of Merit and a place on Kyiv's Walk of the Brave.
