our next chapter
Your gift keeps the type hot, the ink fresh, and the bindings as enduring as the stories they carry.
Print pages, stitch stories, preserve craft.
At Arion Press and the Grabhorn Institute, we believe in the enduring power of the printed word. Each book we produce is a work of art—crafted by hand, bound with care, and designed with the smallest details in mind. Our vibrant events and dynamic programs strive to share the art and craft of bookmaking with the public, encouraging curiosity and preserving tradition for the next generation. Your gift today will bring the art of printing to thousands of new faces.
About our mission
The Grabhorn Institute is one of the nation’s leading forums for the book arts. Grabhorn was founded to preserve and perpetuate M&H Type and Arion Press as cultural treasures. The Grabhorn Institute maintains the last printing facility in America to make books entirely by hand, stewards the country’s second largest collection of metal typefaces, and sustains the nation’s only paid apprenticeships in hand bookmaking. Over the last 25 years, the Institute has grown into a flourishing nonprofit that inspires new, diverse audiences through public talks, exhibitions, and educational programs.
