These elegant guards preserve the park’s beauty while giving saplings the space and protection they need to flourish.
Can I choose the specific tree?
Donors can request a tree along the park’s perimeter, and we will do our best to honor preferences while prioritizing the trees most in need of protection.
Where are the iron tree guards installed?
Classic iron tree guards are installed around newly planted perimeter trees at Fort Greene Park. These young trees are at a crucial stage of growth, and your support helps promote their health and longevity.
What does my dedication include, and how long does it last?
Your gift funds the installation of a Classic Iron Tree Guard, the ongoing maintenance of the guard to ensure it continues to protect the tree, and a personalized plaque that remains in place for 15 years, with the option to renew at the end of that period. Your dedication leaves a visible, lasting mark in the park while celebrating a loved one, milestone, or meaningful memory.
What size is the plaque and how many words can be inscribed?
The plaques are 4 x 6 inches and can hold up to ten lines of text and up to forty characters per line.
How long does installation take?
Once your donation is processed, installation of new guards typically occurs within 3-4 months. We installed two guards in advance of launching the program, which are available to dedicate. Personalized plaques takes 4-5 weeks to produce and install.
Are group contributions or payment plans available?
Absolutely. We offer monthly installment plans and group giving options for those who wish to collaborate with friends, family, or colleagues to make a larger impact.
Can this be funded through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?
Yes, donations from DAFs are welcome.
