What began as a step of obedience has become a journey of faith, perseverance, and hope. Now, New Harvest Temple continues to believe God, and is trusting the strength of our community to help us find a new home.
THE JOURNEY SO FAR
In 2023, after years of costly roof repairs, persistent leaks, and ongoing maintenance challenges, our Pastor sought the Lord through prayer and fasting for direction. God repeatedly confirmed His word through Genesis 12:1, leading us to make the difficult but obedient decision to sell our church building.
Our initial goal was to rent a temporary space for a short season while saving for a permanent home for New Harvest Temple. Yet, this transition has brought greater challenges than expected. Giving and membership has decreased, and many in our congregation have wrestled with uncertainty about the future of our ministry. Despite these challenges, we remain steadfast, working diligently, prayerfully and tirelessly to sustain our ministry and move forward in faith toward the next chapter God has in store for us here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
CURRENT CHALLENGES: THE NEED FOR STABILITY
Since selling our original church building, we’ve been blessed to rent space from a generous local Bishop. Yet, renting brings new challenges:
· Later service times have affected attendance.
· Monthly storage costs for our equipment are significant.
· We must often hire help for setup and other service needs.
· Without a permanent house of worship, it has been difficult to maintain the deep sense of community that defined New Harvest Temple.
Some have expressed they are waiting until we have our own space again before resuming financial support. Meanwhile, ongoing rental and storage expenses continue to divert resources away from ministry work.
WHY WE NEED YOUR FAITH & HELP, COMMUNITY
Securing our own church building is not about convenience; it’s about continuity, calling, and local ministry. We have set a faith-filled goal of $100,000 for our building fund. With your financial support, this fund will allow us to:
· Establish a permanent home where our congregation can worship, grow, and serve freely.
· Restore stability and confidence among our active church members and the surrounding Philadelphia community.
· Redirect funds from storage and rent back into ministry, outreach, and community service.
