Legacy of Love, Arts, and Community

The Legacy of Love Scholarships honor the lives and passions of three cherished members of our EdArts family: Teaching Artists Danny Bacher and Dina Bruno Ciborowski, and community leader John Nagel. Each believed deeply in the power of the arts to bring people together, inspire creativity, and build confidence in every child. Your gift helps continue their legacy by providing scholarships for children and families to participate in Camp Liberty, Bringing Literature to Life and Adventures in Art.

The Dina Bruno-Ciborowski Memorial Fund

As a mentor, friend, leader and hero, Dina brought her love and creativity to countless children and teens at Camp Liberty and Educational Arts Team. She was an active part of the team’s effort in developing lessons and workshops that could engage students and bring joy to their reading and writing.

Help us keep Dina's memory alive through the programs she loved.

The Danny Bacher Fund

Danny was our handball champion, vaudeville extraordinaire, and master of puppetry—his ultimate mission was to make everyone he met laugh.

An award-winning singer, saxophonist, songwriter, magician, and entertainer, Danny’s career blended musical brilliance with humor and storytelling, captivating audiences wherever he performed. He brought the same warmth and wit to his work with the Educational Arts Team, inspiring students to create, imagine, and find joy through the arts.

His light continues to shine through every note, laugh, and moment of wonder he left behind.

The John Nagel Fund

John E. Nagel was a lifelong Jersey City resident whose dedication to young people shaped generations of students and athletes. A teacher and coach for more than four decades, John inspired his students with the same care and commitment he showed in all parts of his life. John Nagel built a bridge and gave teens the opportunity to work and volunteer at Camp Liberty. His steadfast belief in community and education lives on through the programs he supported at the Educational Arts Team; gifts made in his name continue the work he valued so deeply.
