Help Us Provide Vital Community Resources
The Washington Heights/Inwood Mask Bloc provides free PPE (personal protective equipment) and Covid tests to New Yorkers who need them during this ongoing pandemic. While we give these resources away for free, keeping them in stock is not cheap. Tests are our costliest expense, and Evan, the mask bloc's founder and president, has been paying for them out of pocket. Help us continue providing this service by pitching in to cover costs!

Our Story
In 2024, when putting together educational content for a presentation on the ongoing Covid pandemic, Evan realized just how few pandemic resources were available in his neighborhood. Before long, he started looking into creating his own mask bloc to fill that gap.
This project, officially dubbed the Washington Heights/Inwood Mask Bloc, finally kicked into high gear in February 2025, when Evan received a bulk order of then-free Covid tests from HHS. This, along with generous donations of high-quality medical masks from neighbors, allowed Evan to provide resources to vulnerable individuals, caretakers, and others who might otherwise struggle to access the tools they need to keep themselves and their community safe.
Unfortunately, the Federal program that provided the initial batch of Covid tests has ended, but Evan continues to use his own money to provide tests and masks to his community in Upper Manhattan. Will you help continue this vital work?
